How We Helped TV2 Achieve Results

The Challenge

TV2 faced a challenge as they lacked in-depth knowledge of Greenland. The harsh environment, transportation options, and which locations would work best were all unknown factors for them. In addition, they lacked a general understanding of local conditions. This is where we stepped in as experts with our extensive knowledge of Greenland, helping navigate logistical challenges and ensuring the production ran smoothly in the demanding terrain.

The Proposed Solution

TV2 needed help navigating Greenland, both in terms of the harsh terrain and local logistics. A production here required more than just film knowledge; it required knowledge of the country. Our proposed solution was to guide them through the entire process—from finding the right locations to ensuring that transport and equipment could function under the challenging conditions.

Our Role in the Project

In this production, we played a central role, not only as location managers but also as a key partner in various aspects of the production. Our responsibilities spanned multiple areas.

Location Management Overseas

Our primary responsibility was to identify and secure the right locations that could support the series’ narrative flow and visual style. This involved thorough research, coordination with local authorities and partners, and ensuring that all shoots could be completed smoothly and within the planned schedule.

Consultation on Equipment and Travel Planning

Throughout the project, we acted as a consulting partner for the production team, particularly regarding the selection of equipment to ensure optimal recording quality. We also assisted with logistical aspects of the travel plan, taking into account the practical conditions at the various locations.

Clarification and Research of the Story Elements

To ensure that the documentary’s story was told as authentically and engagingly as possible, we also contributed to deeper research. This involved a detailed exploration of historical elements that could support the program’s narrative, as well as advising on how these could be integrated into the various scenes.

Results

This collaboration resulted in the successful launch of the documentary series in 2019, capturing viewers’ attention during primetime on TV2. The series was well received by both critics and audiences, and Malou’s contribution helped create a visual narrative that added an extra dimension to the series. Being able to provide both consulting and practical support at such a high production level was an invaluable experience, highlighting our strengths in both creative and logistical project management.

Conclusion

The collaboration between Malou, United Productions, and TV2 demonstrates our ability to participate in large-scale productions and create value across all phases of a project. We are proud of the role we played and the results achieved. This project has strengthened our expertise and experience in location management, production consulting, and content creation.
