Greenland’s Bottle Deposit System – Campaign Project

The Challenge

The Government of Greenland introduced something we are all familiar with: a bottle deposit system for plastic bottles. However, the most important player in such a system is the citizen—the person who actually needs to return the bottles. The key question was how to communicate this to the Greenlandic population and encourage them to take action. This is where we stepped in as experts in marketing and campaign management.

The Proposed Solution

Take a serious topic and present it with a humorous twist. Bottle deposits can be mundane, and we knew that a commercial simply saying “remember to return your bottles” wouldn’t have much impact on the Greenlandic population.

The Sticky Bottle

Here, we humorously show that it is no longer acceptable to throw plastic bottles in the trash. You actually need to hold onto them, just like the man in the commercial is forced to by the sticky bottle.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire at Home

You shouldn’t only remember the bottle deposit system when you’re out—you should also think about it at home. In this commercial, we again use humor to show how, even at home (as the child demonstrates), you shouldn’t throw deposit bottles in the regular trash. This humorous approach ensures that viewers actually pay attention and understand the principle we want to convey.

Logo and Animated Outro

We gladly take care of the entire scope of our projects. Here, we created both the logo from scratch and the accompanying animation.

Project Outcome

The campaign ran for six months, and we are pleased to have been responsible for the entire process. We often work with the Government of Greenland, and our collaboration and results speak for themselves.
